Wockhardt Hospital & Kidney Institute

Our hospital and kidney institute is located at 111 A, Rashbehari Avenue. This part of the city is always alive. You can hear the trams and the honking of the yellow taxis throughout the day. The building is right there on the main road, making it easy to find but sometimes hard to park near. We focus mostly on kidney problems here. It’s a specific kind of work and it keeps us very busy. The dialysis units are almost always in use. We have patients who come in several times a week, so we get to know them pretty well. We talk about the weather or the local news while they are here. The interior is simple and a bit cramped in places because it’s an older building. We’ve had to fit a lot of equipment into the rooms. The staff works in shifts, and there is always someone around, even in the middle of the night. The smell of disinfectant is quite strong near the entrance. We have a small area where families can sit, but it gets crowded in the afternoons. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside flood a little, but we keep things dry inside. It’s a tough job sometimes, seeing people go through difficult treatments, but we just carry on. We are part of the neighborhood here on Rashbehari Avenue and we just do our part every day, helping folks get through their appointments.
