Peerless Hospital

Peerless Hospital sits at 48/5, Umesh Mukherjee Road in the Belghoria area. It’s a place that never really sleeps. Even late at night, there are lights on and people moving around the corridors. The smell of floor cleaner is pretty much everywhere, which is something you get used to after a few days of working here. It’s not a quiet place, with the sound of bells, carts being pushed, and people talking in the waiting areas. We deal with a lot of folks from around Kolkata who come in for all sorts of reasons. The front desk is usually a bit chaotic with papers and files, especially during the morning rush. Our staff wears many hats, sometimes helping with directions or just finding a chair for someone who looks tired. The building itself is older, and you can see the wear on the walls in certain spots. We don't have those fancy glass lobbies you see in those brand-new private clinics. It’s more practical here. We focus on the patients and getting the paperwork right so things don't get stuck in the system. Outside, the street is always busy with traffic, but once you step inside, the focus shifts to the work at hand. It can be a long day, but that’s just the nature of a hospital in a busy neighborhood like this. We take things one shift at a time.
