The office for Wilfred Advisory Services Private Limited is way up on the 4th floor at 3/1, Dr U N Brahmachari Street. If you are coming from the main road in Kolkata, it is a bit of a walk to get to us. The building has that typical local feel with those long hallways and walls that look like they have been through a lot. We do advisory work here, which basically means we spend our hours looking through piles of documents and talking to people about their business plans. It is usually quiet enough on the 4th floor to actually get things done without too much distraction. We do not have any of those modern open-plan layouts or bean bags in the corner. It is just standard tables, some wooden chairs, and computers that work most of the time. The ceiling fans hum along all day long. Usually, one of us is running down the stairs to grab some snacks or a bottle of water. The address at 3/1 is easy enough to find once you know the neighborhood landmarks, but new visitors sometimes have to look twice at the entrance. We are not trying to impress anyone with expensive art or fancy rugs. Most of our wall space is just covered with calendars and little notes we have pinned up everywhere. We get our work done, send out the emails, and then head home like everyone else. It is just a simple, practical setup for a team.
