Practising Professional

My office is at 36/1 Block A, right near the Bangur Post Office in Kolkata. It’s a convenient spot because everyone knows where the post office is. I work as a professional here, handling various legal and advisory tasks. The building is a bit older, with high ceilings and those big windows you see in this part of the city. I’ve been here for several years now. The office is mostly quiet, except for the sounds of the street coming through the glass. I have a lot of books on the shelves, mostly references for the work I do. It’s just me and a small desk where I keep my laptop and my tea mug. I don’t believe in having a fancy setup. A clean desk and a working lamp are usually enough. People from the neighborhood stop by to ask for help with their documents or advice on certain rules. I try to be helpful and give them the facts. Kolkata is a city that never really stops, but inside this room, things move at a slower pace. I don't use a lot of technology, just what is necessary to get the filings done. Sometimes the ceiling fan rattles, but it’s been doing that for years. I’m used to it. It’s a honest way to spend the day, and I’m glad to be located in 700 055. It feels like a real community here and I know many of the faces.
