We have been sitting here in the Monica Building at 1/1 for quite a while now. Most people just call it the 9B area. It is a small office, mostly filled with filing cabinets and a few desks that have seen better days. Inter Corporate Financiers Consultants Ltd. is just the name on the door, but to us, it’s where we spend most of our daylight hours. The morning starts with dusting off the keyboards and checking the mail that came in yesterday. It’s mostly paperwork here. We deal with a lot of numbers and financial stuff for different companies that need help with their back-end work. The phone rings a lot, usually someone asking about a form or a deadline. We aren't a big fancy firm with glass walls. It is more about sitting down and getting through the stack of files on the desk. Sometimes the tea man from downstairs brings up a few cups around eleven. That is usually when things get the busiest. The building itself is old and you can hear the traffic from the main road all day long. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the old fan just moves the warm air around, but we are used to it by now. We just keep our heads down and work through the ledger entries and consultant reports until it is time to lock up and head home to our families. It is just regular daily work for us.
