We are set up over at 64 Lake Road in Dhakuria. It’s a decent area of Kolkata, and our office is in the Balaka building. Usually, it is pretty busy in here with the phones ringing and people checking the numbers on their screens. Dealing with securities and the market means things can get a bit tense when the day starts, but we have gotten used to the rhythm of it over the years. We aren't some giant glass tower office; it feels more like a regular workspace where people actually know each other. Most of us have worked here for a while and we have our routines, like where we go for lunch or who makes the tea in the afternoon. It is mostly about keeping track of the paperwork and making sure everything is filed where it belongs. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood who stop by to talk about their accounts or just to see how things are going. It is not all numbers and charts; there is a lot of talking and listening too. Sometimes the computers go slow or there is a power cut, and we just have to wait it out like everyone else. We just try to keep things clear and straightforward for the people who trust us with their business. It is a steady job in a nice part of town. We like the trees on Lake Road and the way the light hits the office in the morning. It keeps things calm.
