Wellman Machinery Company

Our workshop is located in the Paul Para area of Milangarh, right here in Kolkata. If you know this part of the city, you know it can get quite crowded and noisy with all the people and traffic. We work on all kinds of machinery, and our shop is filled with tools and spare parts that have piled up over the years. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where every bolt and wrench is kept. The humidity in West Bengal can be really tough on metal, so we spend a lot of time cleaning and fixing things that have rusted or seized up. We don't have a big corporate structure or a human resources department. It is just a small team of us who grew up around machines and like fixing them. We usually have a pot of tea going, and neighbors often drop in just to say hello or ask a quick question about a motor. We don't spend money on flyers or radio ads because we have been in Milangarh long enough that everyone knows what we do. The streets here are narrow, so we usually tell people to come on a motorbike if they can. We just enjoy the work and the challenge of fixing something that everyone else said was broken for good. It’s an honest living in a very busy city. That's about it for our little shop.
