Running a shop like Vikash Electricals in the Basement Market at 32 Ezra Street is definitely an experience. Being in Shopno Bs28 means we are right in the thick of things underground. It stays a bit cooler down here when the sun is beating down on the street outside, but it can get quite cramped when many people are moving through the aisles. Ezra Street is always packed with people looking for electrical parts. We spend a lot of time sorting through wires, bulbs, and various small components that people need for their homes or offices. The basement has its own rhythm, and you get to know the other shopkeepers pretty well. We see the same faces every day. There is no big sign outside, just our spot in the market where we keep our stock. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit in the hallway, which is ironic for an electrical market. We usually get here early to get the shop open and start checking what needs to be restocked. It is a lot of standing around and talking to folks who are trying to fix something. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It is just the shop and the shelves full of boxes. Every day is pretty much the same, but that is fine by us. We just keep the shop running as best we can and hope the day goes by smoothly.
