Our business is located at 150/1, Cotton Sheet. We are up on the 2nd Floor. It is an older building and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying heavy rolls of cloth. The name of the street pretty much tells you what we do. We have been dealing with textiles and cotton for a long time. The space is filled from floor to ceiling with different fabrics. It smells like raw cotton and old paper in here. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just shelves and tables for cutting. Most of the day is spent unrolling fabric and checking the quality of the sheets. It is a quiet place compared to the street level, but we stay busy with the orders that come in. Sometimes the light coming through the windows is the only way we can really see the true color of the thread. We have a small desk where we keep the accounts, usually with a cup of tea sitting nearby. We are not into big advertising; we just rely on the people who have been buying from us for years. The 2nd floor location keeps the street dust away, which is good for the white cottons. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start going through the stock. It’s a simple, steady life in the textile trade.
