L-Plot Upendra Nagar Samabay Samiti

We are based right here in Vill- Upendra Nagar, which is a bit of a journey if you are coming from the main town. Most people know the way past the post office in Rakhalpur. The Gobardhanpur Coastal station isn't too far off either. Our group, the L-Plot Upendra Nagar Samabay Samiti, started because the local folks needed a way to manage things together. It is quiet out here in South 24 Parganas, mostly just fields and the sound of the wind. We don't have a big glass building or anything like that. It is just a simple place where we gather to handle the daily business of the society. Some days it gets busy with people coming in to check their accounts or talk about the next steps for our local projects. We try to keep things organized even when the weather gets rough, which happens a lot near the coast. There is always tea on the stove and someone sitting around to answer questions. It’s a group effort, really. Everyone knows everyone else in this part of the village. We have been here for a while now, just doing our part for the neighborhood and making sure things stay on track. If you reach the Rakhalpur area, just ask for the samiti office and someone will point you down the right lane. It’s not hard to find if you look for the small sign near the gate and wait for the gatekeeper.
