Madhab & Co.

We’ve been based at 58A, Netaji Subhash Road for a long time now. It’s a crowded area near Brabourne Road, so it stays pretty noisy outside from early morning until the evening. Madhab & Co. is basically a small operation. We handle various trading and supply things, mostly whatever the local market is looking for at the time. The building we are in is quite old, which has its own charm, but the lift is a bit moody and sometimes we just take the stairs. If you’re coming to see us, just look for the sign near the corner. It gets very busy around here with all the trucks and people moving goods back and forth. Most of our work involves dealing with local vendors and making sure orders get filled correctly. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us and a couple of assistants handling the phones and the ledger. It gets quite hot in the summer, but we have a decent fan that keeps us going. We’ve known most of our neighbors on Netaji Subhash Road for years. It is that kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs something supplied, we see if we can get it for them. There’s a lot of paperwork with every order, which takes up most of my afternoon. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us on our feet.
