Uma Rubber Moulders Industries

Working with rubber is a messy business, and our place at 9 Chaulpatty Road shows it. Uma Rubber Moulders Industries has been in Beleghata for years, and the smell of hot rubber is something you just get used to after a while. We have a few machines that have been running since my father’s time, and they still do the job better than some of the newer ones I’ve seen. The floor is always a bit dusty, and there are stacks of molds in every corner. It gets really hot in the summer because the machines put out a lot of heat, so we keep the big fans running all day long. Beleghata is a tough neighborhood for logistics sometimes because the roads are narrow, but we manage to get our shipments out. Most of our workers have been with us for a long time, so they know exactly how to handle the presses without me saying a word. We make all sorts of small parts, mostly things people don't think about until they break. I spend most of my day checking the quality of the batches coming off the line or talking to the guys about the next order. Chaulpatty Road is usually full of activity, and we fit right in with the other workshops around here. It’s not a clean office job, but it’s honest work that keeps us busy from dawn to dusk.
