Tress Talk

Up on the first floor of the building at 4A Allenby Road, you can find us. It’s right on Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani, and if you look out the window, you can see the Forum mall across the street on Elgin Road. Being on the first floor means it's a bit quieter than being right on the sidewalk, which is nice when it’s busy outside. We have the usual stuff you’d expect in a place like Tress Talk. There are chairs that pump up and down and a couple of stations for washing hair at the back. The plumbing acts up sometimes but we manage to fix it ourselves. We spend our day mostly standing on our feet and talking to people while we work. It isn't a very big space, so things can get a little crowded if three or four people show up at the same time. We keep the magazines on the small table near the door, though most people just look at their phones now. The floor gets covered in snippets of hair pretty fast, so the broom is always leaning against the wall ready to go. We drink a lot of tea between customers to keep going. It’s a plain place with white walls and some posters that have been there for years. We just try to get the job done and make sure the person in the chair is okay with what’s happening during their visit.
