Our salon is over at 34 Girish Chandra Bose Road in Entally. It’s a busy street and there is always something happening outside. Inside Expressions Family Salon Hair And Beaut, it’s a bit different. We have the usual chairs, mirrors, and the smell of shampoo and hairspray. It’s a family place, so we see everyone from kids getting their first trim to older folks coming in for their regular cut. We keep the radio on most of the time to drown out the noise from the road. The floor is constantly being swept because hair gets everywhere. We have a small area for beauty treatments too, though it’s nothing too fancy. Just a quiet corner with a curtain. Sometimes we get a bit backed up on Saturdays and people have to wait on the bench by the door. We offer them water or a magazine. Our staff has been here for a while and they know how to handle different hair types. We don't have those big glowing signs or expensive decor. It’s just a clean place to get your hair done. The towels are always in the dryer and there’s a pile of them near the sink. We like being in Entally. It feels like a real neighborhood. We know people’s names and what they usually want. It’s just a simple shop where we do our work and try to keep things friendly. Most days we are just busy with the shears and chatting with everyone.
