We’ve been here at shop number six in the Rajkamal Building for a good while now. It’s right near the Deshopriya Park crossing, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside on Rashbehari Avenue. Some days the traffic is just a mess, but our regulars know how to find us. It’s just a small team of us working here at Roselay Beauty Salon And Clinic. We spend most of the morning getting things ready before the first lot of people walk in. Sometimes it gets really crowded in the waiting area, especially on weekends when everyone seems to have the same idea. We mostly just do the usual stuff people need. We talk to the neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby while we have our tea breaks. It is a bit cramped in the shop sometimes, but we make it work. The building is old but it has its own character. We try to keep the chairs filled and the floors swept between clients. Most of the people who come in live just a few blocks away, so we know their names and what they like. It isn’t anything fancy or like those big chains you see in the malls. It’s just us doing our jobs every day. We open up early and stay until the last person is done. That’s pretty much how things go here on Rashbehari Avenue.
