If you’ve ever been to Poddar Court, you know it’s a massive building with a lot of different businesses squeezed in together. Finding Suite No 601 can take a minute if you don’t know the corridors. Our office is a busy place where we spend most of the day looking at financial stuff and helping people with their investments. It’s not very fancy, just some desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of coffee mugs. Kolkata is a loud city and you can hear the horns honking all the way up here. We work as consultants, so a lot of our time is spent on the phone or looking at market charts on the screen. It can be stressful when the markets are moving fast, but we just try to keep a level head and do the work. We are not big talkers when it comes to sales; we just tell people what the numbers look like and let them decide. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of old paper and city dust. We’ve been here for a while and we know the other people on our floor. It’s just a regular job for us, trying to make sense of money matters for the folks who come to see us in the city.
