The Salon

The Salon is tucked away on the ground floor of Sree Krishna Residence over in Kaikhali. It’s a decent spot in Ghosh Para, and since we’re right in the building, we get a lot of people who actually live here. It makes it feel more like a community than just a business. I remember moving in and setting things up, wondering if the neighbors would mind the extra foot traffic, but everyone has been really welcoming. Being at the ground floor helps because people don't have to climb stairs. We’ve been here long enough that I know most of the people by their first names now. We talk about local things, like the new shops opening up or how the traffic is getting worse around Kolkata lately. The place isn't fancy, just some chairs and mirrors, but it's comfortable enough for a chat while we work. It’s funny how a small space like this becomes a hub for gossip and news. Sometimes the kids from the residence pop their heads in just to say hi. Kaikhali is a growing area, and it's nice to be part of that growth. We don't have big signs or anything, just a quiet little place where we do our daily work and keep things going for the folks nearby.
