The Organic Food Store

The Organic Food Store is over at 19 Ballygunge Circular Rd, right in the Chakraberia area. It’s a pretty busy neighborhood and we fit right in. Our shelves are mostly packed with different grains, pulses, and whatever else is in season. We don't really go for the high-end supermarket look. It is more like a local shop where you can actually see the products without too much plastic around them. People from around Ballygunge walk in and out all day. Some of them have been coming since we first opened the doors. We spend a lot of time checking the labels and making sure the stock is fresh. It’s a lot of lifting and moving bags around which keeps us tired but it’s good work. The floor is made of old stone and it stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. Most of our customers just hear about us from their neighbors. Sometimes we run out of something popular and we have to tell people to come back next week. It is just how it goes with this kind of food. We try to keep the place clean and tidy, but it gets a bit dusty with all the sacks of flour. It is a simple shop for people who want regular food.
