Spice Garden

Spice Garden is located on New Town Road in Kolkata, right near the Chinarpark area. It’s a fast-growing part of the city, so there is always construction or something going on nearby. We have our spot here and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the last few years. The 700059 area is full of people going to work or heading home to the new apartments. We get a mix of everyone. It’s a basic restaurant where we focus on the everyday food people like to eat. We don’t have a fancy menu with things you can’t pronounce. It’s just the usual stuff we have always made. The place isn't huge, but we make it work for the customers we have. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when the dinner rush hits on a Sunday. The staff is mostly local guys who have been with us for a bit. We don’t put on any airs here. If the fan is noisy, we fix it when we get a chance. That’s just the way it is in a local shop. Being near Chinarpark means people use us as a landmark sometimes. We are just a regular part of the street. Kolkata is a city that loves its food, so we try to keep up with that demand. We don’t do much advertising; people just walk in because they are in the neighborhood. The kitchen stays busy from morning till night. It’s hard work, but we are used to it.
