Hoograjuli (Assam) Tea Company Ltd.

We share the space at Nicco House on the 4Th Floor, 7, Church Lane. Being the Hoograjuli (Assam) Tea Company Ltd., you’d think we’d have tea leaves everywhere, but it’s mostly just desks and files here in the office. The actual tea is far away on the estates, but we handle the business side of it from this building. The building is old and the elevators can be a bit slow or jerky, so we often just take the stairs if we’re in a hurry to get out. Church Lane is tucked away but always has something going on with the vendors and pedestrians. It’s a bit cramped in the office sometimes with all the ledgers and samples we keep. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing things down in books. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner for ourselves, of course, because you can't work here without tea. We aren't into big speeches or fancy branding. We just focus on the tea business and keep things running as they should. The 4Th Floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the computer screen. It’s a steady pace here. We don’t change things much if they’re working fine. Just a group of people keeping things going in the city.
