We've been at Fairlie Place for a while now. It's an old building, H.M.P House, and we're up on the fourth floor in room 421A. If you know Kolkata, you know this area is always busy. People coming and going all the time. Surmedha Property Private Limited is just a small setup here. We handle property stuff, mostly papers and talking to people about land or buildings. It gets noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just get on with the work. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just some desks and files. Most days it's just us answering phones or meeting someone who stopped by the office. Dealing with real estate in West Bengal takes a lot of patience. There's always something to sign or a place to go look at. We try to keep things straightforward. No one likes complicated talk. We just tell you what's happening with the property and what the next step is. Sometimes the lift in the building is slow, so we end up waiting a bit. It’s part of the day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. Some shops close, others open. But we stay right here in the heart of the city. It’s a decent place to work if you don't mind the hustle. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just managing properties for people who need help with it. That’s about it for us.
