Sudip Saloon sits right on B T Road in Cossipore. It’s a busy area, so there’s always a lot of dust and noise from the trucks passing by. We keep the shop open for anyone who needs a quick fix. Kolkata - 700002 is a crowded part of town, and our little space reflects that. It isn't very big, but we make it work. Since we are on B T Road in Kolkata, Cossipore, B T Road, it gets quite hectic outside. There are a few chairs and some shelves for the combs and creams. I started working here because I like being near the main road where everything is happening. You get all sorts of people walking in—commuters, local workers, and students. We don’t have a website or any of that, just the shop front on B T Road. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to rely on the natural light coming through the door. It’s just a basic setup. We do hair cutting and shaving mostly. People don't come here for a spa treatment; they come to get their hair shortened and move on with their day. The floor stays busy with hair clippings, and the radio usually plays some old songs in the background. It feels like home to me. We’ve been at this spot for years, and most people in Cossipore know where to find us. It’s practical and honest work. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just take care of the people on B T Road who need a simple cut.
