Bidya Bharati Girls High School

We are located right in Block B of New Alipore, which is a pretty busy part of the city. Bidya Bharati Girls High School has a fairly tall building because there isn't much room to spread out horizontally around here. Every morning, the street outside gets packed with cars and rickshaws, and it’s a bit of a relief once the girls are all inside and the gates are shut. The hallways are usually buzzing with noise between classes. We have to be quite organized to make sure hundreds of students move through the building without too much chaos. The classrooms are filled with desks and cupboards packed with old records and books. Our teachers have been here a long time, and they don't have much patience for nonsense. We just want the girls to study hard and get through their exams. The staff room is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks waiting to be corrected. It’s a very busy environment. We don't have a giant field for sports, so we make do with the courtyard space we have. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but that’s just how it is in New Alipore. We focus on the lessons and keeping the school running in an orderly way. It’s just a local school doing its best in a crowded neighborhood, day in and day out, without making much of a fuss about things.
