We are located over in the Motilal Colony area, near the 2 No. Airport. It’s a busy part of Kolkata, especially with the planes coming in and out nearby. Our school is basically a part of the local community here in Rajbari. We share space near Gita Debnath's place, and it’s been that way for some time. The building isn't very large, but we make use of every corner we have. The kids come in early, and the noise level just goes up from there. We have a few classrooms and a small area where we keep the registers and files. It’s not a fancy private academy with a swimming pool or anything like that. We just focus on the books and making sure the students are learning what they need to. The teachers often sit together during the breaks to have some puffed rice and tea. It can get pretty hot in the summer months, but the ceiling fans do their best. We’ve had to fix the roof a couple of times after the heavy rains. Dealing with the paperwork for the affiliation keeps us busy too. It’s a lot of manual work, checking names and filling out forms by hand. We know most of the parents by face because they live right around the corner. It feels like a small family unit more than a big institution. We just do what we can with what we have every day.
