Hartlays High School

Our school is right at 11/4, Sarat Bose Rd, which is a busy part of the city. If you walk down from Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani, you can’t miss us. It’s an old building, but it serves us well. We’ve been here for quite a while now, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. Every morning, the streets are full of students in their uniforms. The classrooms are simple with high ceilings because of the way the building was designed years ago. We don’t have any of those modern glass walls or fancy lounges you see in newer places. We just have sturdy desks, blackboards, and a lot of books. The teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for years. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud, but the kids are used to it. We have a small yard in the back where they can get some fresh air during the breaks, at least when it isn't raining. On wet days, the entrance gets a bit muddy, but we just mop it up and keep going. The parents wait outside the gate in the afternoons, and it's a regular sight on Sarat Bose Road. We aren't trying to be the most famous school in the world. We just want to provide a place where the local kids can come and learn their lessons every day. It’s a lot of work running the place, but we like the community here. It’s just how we do things.
