Star Saloon & Parlour

Star Saloon & Parlour is right in the middle of Kumar Para Bazar on P K Guha Road. Our door is at number 254. Being in the bazar means it’s always loud and full of energy. You can hear the vegetable sellers and the bikes honking all day long. We handle both men and women here, though we have separate sections so everyone feels okay. The place isn't fancy at all. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the floor tiles are a bit worn from all the walking. But the mirrors are clean and the scissors are sharp. We do everything from basic haircuts to bridal makeup if someone asks. Most days it’s just local people coming in for their regular grooming. We have a few regulars who have been coming to us for years, and they usually stay for a chat even after we finish. The lighting is okay, but it gets a bit dim when the power goes out, though we have a small backup for the fans. It’s a busy little shop where we just work hard and try to keep up with the crowd from the market. We don't use any high-end brands, just the normal stuff you find in most local parlors around Kolkata. It’s just Star, a part of the daily life in Kumar Para.
