Standard Footwear

We have been here at 36/1A, Gorachand Road for a good while now. It’s just a regular shop where we deal with shoes and sandals. People around the neighborhood know us pretty well. The door is usually open and there is always someone around to help find a pair that fits okay. It gets a bit busy in the afternoons, but that is how it goes. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Just shelves full of boxes. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty from the street traffic outside. I’ve lived around here my whole life and working at Standard Footwear feels right. We handle a lot of local orders. It's not a huge operation, just a few of us making sure things get done. You might see some boxes stacked in the corner because we ran out of shelf space. That happens more often than I’d like to admit. My uncle started this place years ago and now I am here most days. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the inventory gets ahead of us. If you walk down Gorachand Road, you can't really miss the sign. It’s a bit faded but you can still read it. We spend most of our time checking the quality of what comes in. If a sole isn't glued right, we notice it. It’s practical work. No one wears suits here. Most customers are regulars who come back when their old boots wear out. It’s a simple way to make a living.
