Sover Saloon

Sover Saloon is at 16 Bagmari Lane. If you know Kankurgachi well, you’ll know we are just a short walk from the 3A bus stand. It’s a handy location because the bus stops right there, so people coming from work can just hop off and walk over. The lane itself can be a bit narrow, so parking is always a bit of a headache, but most of our regulars just walk here anyway. We are in the 700054 zip code area. The shop is a bit older, with some character in the walls and the way the door creaks a little. We have three chairs but usually only two are working at the same time. It’s a quiet enough street once you get away from the main bus stand area. We’ve got a small radio that plays the news or some music in the background. It helps fill the silence when nobody is talking. The walls are painted a light blue, though it’s faded a bit over the summers. We see a lot of the older men from the neighborhood who have been coming here since we first opened. They usually have a lot of stories to tell about how Kankurgachi used to look. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. It’s a simple life running a shop like this, and we like the routine of it. We just open up and wait for the day to start.
