Snowhite Fashion Boutique sits at 188C on Rash Behari Avenue in kolkata. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets. The trams rattle past, and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking right outside our door. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the walls probably need a new coat of paint, but we are too busy to get to it. Inside, it smells a bit like incense and old cotton. We keep the boutique stocked with whatever catches our eye when we go to the wholesalers. It isn't a huge place, but we have managed to cram a lot of stuff onto the racks over the years. Some of the floor tiles are a bit chipped from moving the heavy racks around. In the evenings, when the sun goes down and the street lights come on, the shop feels very cozy. Customers from all over kolkata find their way to Rash Behari Avenue, and they usually stay a while to chat. We don't use a computer for our bills; everything is written by hand. It takes a bit longer, but that's just the way we've always done it at Snowhite Fashion Boutique. During the monsoon, we have to keep a close watch on the door so the rain doesn't blow in on the fabrics. It’s a lot of work, but it keeps us busy.
