Kapoor Boutique

Kapoor Boutique is tucked inside the Vitrag Fashion area within the Pawan Complex on Nehru Road. If you know this road, you know it gets incredibly crowded in the evenings when everyone is out. We have been in this spot for a good bit of time now, sewing and selling clothes for the women in the neighborhood. It is a small boutique, and it is mostly filled with tall rolls of fabric and half-finished suits hanging on every available hook. We do a lot of custom tailoring, so there is almost always the sound of sewing machines running in the back room. My aunt was the one who started this shop, and now we all help out to keep it going. We do not have those big, fancy window displays like you see in the malls, but people find us through word of mouth. Sometimes a customer comes in with a very specific idea for a dress, and we spend hours trying to get the fit just right. It involves a lot of measuring and pinning. We like seeing someone walk out happy with a new outfit for a wedding or a local party. The shop is a bit cramped, honestly, with thread and buttons scattered everywhere, but it is our space and we like it. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the regulars who stop by just to say hello. It is not a high-end fashion house; it is just a place where we make clothes.
