You can find us over at 36D/1, Topsia Road, not too far from the Science City and right by the Dhapa Bridge. Shree Ramkrishna Marble (P) Ltd has been sitting on this stretch for quite some time now. Dealing with heavy stone like marble means we deal with a lot of heavy lifting and wet floors from the cutting saws. The traffic around here can get pretty bad, especially near the bridge, so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a puzzle. We have piles of slabs leaning against the walls, and you can smell the damp stone in the air most days. It isn’t the quietest place to work, but we are used to the noise of the grinders. Customers usually wander in looking for something specific for their floors or kitchens, and we just walk them through the rows of what we have in stock. We don’t have any polished speeches or sales tactics. We just show the stone as it is, with all its natural lines and marks. Some days are slow, and we spend time cleaning up the scraps, while other days everyone is rushing to get an order loaded before the evening traffic hits. It’s a lot of physical labor, but there is something okay about seeing a rough block get sliced into something useful. We're just a local crew doing the work. Everyone takes turns with the heavy lifting and the sweeping at the end of the day.
