Mahaveer Marbles

You can find Mahaveer Marbles at No. 2 & 3 Range Road. We are right near the 4 No. Bridge and the Lohapool auto stand. It’s a dusty place because of all the stone we keep out in the yard. We have slabs of marble and tiles stacked up high. It’s heavy work, moving these things around all day. People come here when they are building a house or fixing up a kitchen. They walk around the stacks to see the patterns in the stone. No two pieces are exactly the same, so it takes people a while to choose. The auto stand nearby makes it a bit noisy and there’s always traffic coming off the bridge. We have a small office where we do the billing, but mostly we are outside showing the stock. We get deliveries from the quarries every week. Sometimes the stone arrives cracked and we have to set it aside. That’s just part of the business. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just the stone and us. If someone needs a piece cut, we have the machines in the back to do it. It’s a lot of lifting and loading onto trucks. We’ve been here at Range Road for years, just supplying the neighborhood with what they need for their floors and counters. It is honest work and the yard stays busy from sunrise until we close up.
