If you are looking for us, you have to head into Marshall House at 33/1 N.S. Road. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. We are all the way up on the 6th floor in room number 650. Shounik Export is a small operation in terms of the space we occupy, but we stay busy with all the paperwork and shipping details. The room is filled with folders and samples of things we are sending out. It can get a bit cramped when several people are in there at once. N.S. Road is always a mess of people and vehicles, so getting into the building in the morning is a bit of a workout. Once we are up in the office, things settle down a bit, though the phone rings pretty often. We keep a calendar on the wall with everything marked in thick pen so we don't forget the dates. The air is a little stuffy on the 6th floor, so we keep the windows open when the weather allows. It’s just a plain office where we sit and handle the exports. We don’t have any fancy decorations or a big sign. Most of our work is done on the computer or over the phone. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day, just making sure the shipments move from one place to another. We have an old kettle that makes a whistling sound when the water is ready, and that's usually our signal to take a short break.
