We are based at 25 Ganesh Chandra Avenue, up on the second floor. It’s an old building, the kind with high ceilings and those big, heavy doors that have been there for decades. Ganesh Chandra Avenue is a busy street, always crowded with people and yellow taxis honking outside. Our space isn't like those modern glass offices you see in the new parts of the city. It’s a bit cramped with files and old wooden desks. We’ve been running Shalimar Industries from here for quite a while now. Even though the name says "Industries," this is mostly where we handle the paperwork and the business side of things. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we like being in this part of town. There’s a lot of history in these walls. The paint is a pale color that’s faded over the years, and we have a few fans spinning overhead to keep the air moving during the humidity. We don't have a fancy reception area or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably just walk straight into the middle of us working at our desks. We mostly deal with other businesses and suppliers. It’s a straightforward operation. We have our routines, like the tea man who comes by every afternoon. We don’t really go for all that corporate talk or big mission statements. We just show up, do the books, talk to our clients on the phone, and head home when the day is finished. It’s how we’ve always done it.
