Sorella Boutique

Our little shop is at No. 1/1 Gomesh Lane. We are on the ground floor, right across from N. R. S. Hospital in Sealdah. Being near a big hospital means there is always people walking by, so the street is never really quiet. Inside the boutique, it’s mostly just rolls of cloth and half-finished dresses hanging on the racks. We spend a lot of time cutting fabric on the big wooden table in the middle. It’s an old table with plenty of scratches, but it works fine for us. Sometimes the sewing machines get a bit loud, especially when we have three of them going at once. We don’t really do much advertising. People usually see the clothes through the window and just wander in. Sealdah is a hectic place, so once people step inside, it feels a bit calmer, even with all the thread and needles lying around. We usually have a few different tailors working in the back room. We focus on getting the fit right, which sometimes takes a bit of time and a few tries. We don't have any fancy lighting or air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. It’s a bit cramped when we get a lot of stock in, but we manage to find space. We've been here for a good bit now and know most of the regular shopkeepers on the lane. It’s just a normal workday for us. We just keep doing what we know how to do.
