You can find us over at 136/1B/H4 Beliaghata Road in Kolkata. Satguru Money Changers Private Limited is the name on the sign outside. It’s a busy part of town and there is always something going on right outside our door. We deal with people who are coming or going from the country and need to get their money sorted out. We see dollars, euros, pounds, and all sorts of other notes every day. It’s interesting to see where everyone is headed. The shop itself is pretty small and we have a counter with thick glass for safety. We spend a lot of time counting cash and making sure the exchange rates are as current as they can be. Sometimes people come in with very old notes they found in a drawer and we have to tell them if they are still good or not. It’s a lot of standing and talking to customers. We don't use any fancy systems, just a simple computer and our own eyes to check the bills for any issues. Kolkata 700015 is our little corner of the world. We’ve been at this Beliaghata location for quite some time now. Most of our day is just regular routine work, opening up the shutters in the morning and closing them down once the sun goes or when the cash is all locked away safely for the night. It is hard work but we are used to the pace by now.
