Sarada Beauty Queen

I’ve been running Sarada Beauty Queen for a bit now, right here on Deshbandhu Road East. We are at 104 A, just across from Central Modern School. Most days it’s pretty busy because of the school run and people walking by. I remember when I first opened this place, I wasn't sure if anyone would notice us, but the folks in this part of Kolkata have been good to us. The shop isn't huge, but it gets the job done. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on what we’re doing. People come in for all sorts of things, maybe just a quick thread or something for their hair. I try to keep things simple because that’s what works. My friends ask me why I chose this spot, and I tell them it’s because the neighborhood feels real. You see the same faces every day. It's not like those fancy places in the big malls. We are just here on the street, doing our thing. Sometimes we talk about the weather or how busy the road is today. It’s nice having the school right there because there’s always life around. If you are looking for us, just find the school and look across the road. We’re usually there from morning till evening, just trying to help people look a bit better than when they walked in. It’s hard work, but it’s our work.
