We have been here at Chandiberia Road for quite some time now. If you know the 9 No. Ground in Kolkata, you can find our shop pretty easily right near it. It is just a simple place with a few chairs and mirrors where we do haircuts and shaves for the local people. Most of the men who come here live nearby or are just passing through after a game at the ground. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on Sunday mornings, but usually, it is just a steady flow of people coming in to get cleaned up. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything, just a few ceiling fans that keep the air moving while we work. The floor gets covered in hair quickly, so we are always sweeping it up between customers. My tools are old but I keep them sharp and ready. People talk about the local news or what is happening in the neighborhood while they sit in the chair. It is a loud city, but inside the shop, it feels a bit different once you get used to the sound of the scissors. We try to get everyone finished quickly so they can get back to their day. It is a honest living and we have been doing it this way for years without changing much. Nothing fancy, just a place to get your hair cut.
