S. Md. Ali & Sons

We are located at 3, Pt. Purushottam Roy Street, right across from Nand Market. It’s one of those narrow streets where it’s always a bit of a struggle to get through with a vehicle. S. Md. Ali & Sons is an old name around here. The building is quite old too, and it has that specific smell of an established business. We don’t have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working in a space that’s been the same for years. We handle all sorts of trade and the office is usually piled high with ledgers and old papers. It’s not very organized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. My father and his father before him probably sat in the same spots we do now. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, or the electricity goes out in the middle of a busy afternoon. We just light a candle or wait for the power to come back and keep going. The neighbors at Nand Market are all familiar faces. We see them every morning when we open up the heavy wooden doors. We aren't looking to expand into some huge empire. We just want to keep the family name going and do right by the people who come to see us. It's simple work in a crowded part of the city. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the news while we wait for the next delivery to arrive.
