S. Kantilall & Co. is located at 79, Netaji Subhas Road. If you know the area, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. Our building is old, like most of the ones on this street, but it holds up well. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for decades. There’s a lot of history in these walls, even if it’s just old ledgers and wooden desks. We don't use much modern tech unless we absolutely have to. Most of our business is done the old-fashioned way, face to face or over the phone. Netaji Subhas Road is the kind of place where you hear the horns honking all day long, but inside the shop, it’s a bit more focused. We deal with various goods and supplies, and our inventory is stacked up wherever we can find room. It’s not the most organized looking place to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. The people who work here have been with us for a long time, some for their whole lives. We’re part of the furniture here, I guess you could say. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by. It’s a steady pace, and we like the community around us. Sometimes we just sit and have tea with the other shop owners on the block. It’s a nice way to spend the afternoon.
