The township is a large residential and commercial zone. We have a lot of people coming in every day for various reasons. The hospital building is a prominent feature on the bypass. We have many departments and specialized units. It’s a busy atmosphere. There’s no avoiding the noise and the crowds. We aren't trying to be a luxury facility. We are a general hospital for everyone. The rooms are basic but they have what is needed. Our staff consists of many local people who have been with us for a long time. They know how to handle the rush. We have a canteen that stays busy throughout the day. The food is simple and filling. We don't use marketing speak or have a fancy mission statement displayed in the lobby. We just run a hospital. It involves a lot of paperwork and long hours. The E M Bypass is a lifeline for the city, and being located here means we are always reachable. We have seen the East Kolkata Township grow and change over the decades. We have stayed here through all of it. We just keep providing a place for people to get medical help when they need it.
