Romeo Salon

Romeo Salon is right here in Ghosh Para. If you know the Kali Mandir in Krishnapur, we are just a few steps away on the ground floor. It is a small place, nothing too fancy, but we have been around for a while now. Most people from around here know where we are. We open up in the morning and stay busy until quite late. The mirrors have a few spots on them sometimes, and the chairs are a bit old, but they are comfortable enough. Kolkata gets so hot, so we try to keep things moving. You will see kids coming in with their dads on Sundays and young guys looking for a quick trim before work. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the work. Sometimes there is music playing on a small radio, or someone is talking about the cricket score. We just do the usual hair cutting and shaving. It's not a place where you sit and wait in luxury, but it gets the job done. The neighborhood is busy, especially near the temple, so there is always noise from the street. We like it that way because it feels like home. If the fan is making a clicking sound, we just ignore it. Most of our regulars have been coming here since they were little. It’s just how things go in this part of Krishnapur. We try to keep the floor clean but with so many people, hair gets everywhere pretty fast. Anyway, that is us.
