Rohini Boutique

You can find Rohini Boutique at Shop No. 28 on the ground floor over at No. 3 Madge Lane. It is a small space, but we manage to fit quite a lot in there. We mostly deal with ladies' wear and some custom stitching. There are racks of clothes along the walls and a big table in the middle where we do the measuring and cutting. Madge Lane is usually quite busy, so there is always noise from the street coming in. We do not have a lot of staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the fabric. We spend a lot of time looking at thread colors and trying to match them up with different materials. Sometimes a customer comes in with a specific idea and we have to figure out how to make it work. It is not always easy. The shop can feel a bit crowded when more than two people are inside at once. We have got a small mirror in the corner for fittings. We are not a big brand or anything, just a local shop trying to make decent clothes. Every now and then we get a really difficult piece of silk that takes forever to sew. We just take it slow. Most of our day is spent pinned to the sewing machine or talking to people who drop by. It is a quiet kind of busy. We like being on the ground floor because it is easy.
