We have been working out of this space for some time now, focusing on the designs that people around here seem to like. It is not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. Usually, it is just a few of us sitting around, looking at fabrics and trying to figure out what looks good together. The shop floor is often covered in loose threads and scraps of cloth because we are always in the middle of some project. We spend a lot of time talking to people who walk in just to see what is new. Sometimes the afternoons get slow, so we just sit and have tea while looking over the inventory. It is a very local kind of place. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright flashing lights. It is more about the work we do with our hands. Jodhpur Park is a nice neighborhood and we feel like we belong here. We just try to make clothes that look decent and feel right when you wear them. It’s a lot of trial and error with the patterns, but that’s just how it goes when you’re doing this kind of work every day. We stay until the sun goes down most evenings.
