Priyanka Das operates out of 126, K. M. D. Road, which is located in the Dum Dum Cantonment area. It’s a typical neighborhood spot where everyone seems to know everyone else. The building is an older one, and it has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep. Being near the cantonment means there is a certain rhythm to the day that you don't find in other parts of the city. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down where we usually grab a snack in the afternoons. The office space inside 126 is simple, with just the basic furniture and a few shelves for files. It’s not the kind of place that would impress a corporate executive, but it works perfectly for the daily tasks at hand. K. M. D. Road can get a bit muddy when it rains heavily, but that’s just life in Dum Dum. We spend most of the morning answering emails and talking to people who drop by with questions. It is a one-person show for the most part, so things can get a bit hectic if too many things happen at once. I don't use any fancy software to keep track of things, just a couple of notebooks and a pen. People around here appreciate the direct way of doing things. It’s a small operation, but it keeps me busy and connected to the local community every day.
