Pradip Thakur Saloon

I am Pradip, and I’ve been running this saloon here on K C Road for a long time now. It’s right at number 14, not hard to find if you are walking down this part of Kolkata. Most days start the same way, opening up the shutters and getting the chairs ready. It is a small place, nothing like those big shops in the malls, but we get the job done. People around here know me, and they just drop by when they need a trim or a quick shave before work. I don't have a big staff, just a couple of us working through the day. Sometimes it gets crowded on Sundays, so folks have to wait on the bench outside or chat by the door. We talk about the local news or whatever is happening in the city. The mirrors are old, and the floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, but we sweep it up when there's a break. It is just a normal shop for normal people. I didn't plan on doing anything else, this is what I know. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that hum all day long. If you live near K C Road, you probably walked past us a hundred times already. It’s a quiet life, mostly. Just cutting hair and making sure everyone looks a bit neater when they walk out the door than when they walked in. That is how it goes here every day.
