Prabir Shoe House

You can find Prabir Shoe House right by the 12C bus stand in Pailan. It is a very loud spot because of all the buses pulling in and out and the conductors shouting the routes. Our shop is filled with the smell of new rubber and leather. We have shoes stacked all the way to the ceiling in some places, and sometimes a box falls down when we are looking for a specific size. It is just a local place where people come to get a pair of sandals or school shoes for their kids. The floor is usually covered in a bit of mud or dust from people walking in straight from the bus stop. We have a couple of small stools for people to sit on while they try things on, but they are a bit wobbly. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling all the stock and the cardboard. We do not have any big bright lights, just a couple of bulbs that make the place feel a bit yellow in the evenings. Pailan is a busy junction, so we see a lot of different faces every day. We just try to help people find something that fits their feet and will last a while on these roads. It is not a luxury store by any means. It is just a shop at a bus stand where we do our best to keep the stock moving and the customers happy enough. We spend most of our days just organizing the boxes and waiting for the bus.
