If you know Canning Street, you know how hectic it can be. We are right there at number 8, on the ground floor in Room No 13A. It’s a small office, and we have to use every inch of space we’ve got. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling sometimes, depending on what’s just arrived. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the building, but once you find 13A, you’ll find us. We handle a lot of different things as an enterprise, mostly buying and selling whatever is in demand. The noise from the street never really stops, so we’ve learned to talk over the honking cars and shouting vendors. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day, usually ordered from the stall just outside the main entrance. We don't have a website that looks like a million bucks or a big team of sales people. It’s just a couple of us handling the paperwork and talking to suppliers on the phone. The office is a bit dark because it’s on the ground floor and the windows are small, but we have good lights. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for a decade. They just drop by to settle accounts or check on their orders. It’s a traditional way of doing business in a very traditional part of the city. We don't have any grand plans to move; we like being in the middle of all the action on Canning Street.
