Pamper

If you are coming down Dum Dum Road, you will see us right across from Motijheel Commerce College. The shop is called Pamper, and we have been at 73, Dum Dum Road for a while now. It’s a busy stretch of Kolkata 700074, always full of students from the college and people rushing to the station. Being opposite the college means there is always a lot of energy outside our door. We aren't one of those high-end salons with a receptionist in a suit. It’s just a straightforward place where we do hair and skin stuff. The name might sound a bit fancy, but the reality is much more down-to-earth. We spend our days mostly chatting with regulars who live in the apartments nearby. The floor usually has a bit of hair on it because we are constantly working. We use simple mirrors and old-fashioned chairs because they work just fine. Some days the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard over the horns. It’s just part of life here. We don’t have a website or a marketing team. Most people just drop in while they are out buying groceries or heading home from class. It’s a small space, so it gets cozy when there are three or four people waiting. We keep the water cooler filled and the fans running. It’s just a regular local business trying to do a decent job for the neighbors.
