Nu Look Saloon

You can find Nu Look Saloon at 105/1, Bidhan Nagar Road. We are right near the Ultadanga Railway Station, so there is always a crowd nearby. Because of the station, we get all sorts of people coming in. Some are just passing through Kolkata, while others have lived here their whole lives. The shop is a bit small, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it's a good place to sit for a while. We have the big heavy chairs that spin around. The mirrors are large and cover most of the wall space. When the trains whistle nearby, you can hear it clearly inside. It gets very busy in the evenings when people are getting off work and heading home. We don't take appointments; you just show up and wait your turn on the wooden bench. Usually, there is a newspaper lying around to read. We do shaves, haircuts, and head massages. The atmosphere is very casual. We talk to whoever is in the chair about their day or the weather. It can get hot in the summer, but the fans do their best. We've been at this spot for quite some time now and know most of the shopkeepers on this stretch of Bidhan Nagar Road. It’s just a basic saloon for a quick fix. We keep the scissors moving and the talk going.
